Very few people will come to the foot of the cross without someone holding their hand. It might be a parent, a trusted friend, a Sunday school teacher, an evangelist’s challenge—but in general, we are invited and led there by someone.
Likewise, very few people will attend a church on their own. Instead, a family member, coworker, fellow student or neighbor usually issues an invitation and often literally brings that person to church.
Why do we bring people—to the foot of the cross, or to the campus of the church? Because of love. Love for Jesus, love for others, a desire that “none shall perish.” And we’re smart enough to understand that for most people it’s a process . . . it may be a series of invitations that ultimately leads to someone meeting Jesus for themselves.
So as a church family, we want to make it as accessible and inviting as possible for people to enter into our community. Sunday mornings, weekday ministries, Love our Cities outreach days—there are lots of doors through which to come, and here are some “bringer” events on the horizon for us to do just that kind of inviting:
VBS: Adventure Week 2016
Join us for Adventure Week, July 11–15 as we take a trip to Foreverland and discover God’s story of love and redemption. For kids entering into first through sixth grade in the fall. Free! Register at www.evfreefullerton.com starting in June (and think about serving in VBS as well).
Take Me Out to the Ball Game
Tuesday, July 19, 7:05pm, Angel Stadium. $8. Angels vs Texas Rangers.
We’ve got 500 seats and we’d love for you, your family, friends and neighbors to fill them. Purchase tickets through your community group beginning mid-June. (Any remaining seats will be available for purchase at Guest Central.)
End of Summer Concert
Friday, September 2 (date confirmation pending), 7pm, Worship Center.
Bring a friend and come enjoy patriotic anthems and lively gospel tunes performed by our choir and orchestra. And stick around afterward for some apple pie!
Labor Day Family Picnic
Monday, September 5, 9am–4pm at Oak Canyon Park, Irvine.
Celebrate summer’s end and build community as we enjoy food and fun together. Bring the whole family and a picnic lunch—we’ll have sports, a baking contest, paddle boats, bounce houses, snacks for sale—lots to do for all ages.
Christmas Blvd with A Walk Through Bethlehem
December 16–18. We will need lots of help to make this a true gift to our community. Be thinking about how you can contribute, work a shift or two, and invite others to attend with you.
Ready, set, invite—and bring!
